DUNDEE: Hijacker shot in botched robbery

Qomkufa Security responded instantly

Security officers shot dead an armed robber and shot and wounded another, following the hijacking of a delivery van on the Nquthu/Babanango road this afternoon.

The truck belonging to Best Baker, of Union Street, Dundee, was travelling on the road when the driver was accosted by two armed men.

The driver was stabbed and is being treated. Qomkufa Security Guards, who were travelling in an escort vehicle, responded immediately and confronted the hijackers.

One was shot and killed and the other wounded. SAPS are currently on the scene. Sipho Ngcobo of Qomkufa Security said the hijacking occurred in the Kwanyezi area near Mabululwane.
