Phumelani Mbatha (also known as AmaBullet) – who was wanted in connection with numerous house robberies, common robberies, stock theft cases and assault – was finally arrested by Detective Warrant Officer Nkabini on Saturday in Dundee. Mbatha had been on the run since last year. He made a brief appearance in the Dundee Magistrate’s Court on Monday morning on charges of house robbery, common robbery and assault. He has been remanded into custody until next week’s bail application.

Pep Stores robbed

Police are investigating a case of armed robbery after Pep Stores in Victoria Street was robbed of a large amount of cash, cell-phones and Pep money cards on Friday afternoon. Police are asking members of the public with any information to please contact Dundee SAPS or their nearest police station.
