DUNDEE KZN: Tennis Club suffers theft, vandalism

The tennis club property willl be handed back to the Municipality

The historic tennis club has been  seriously vandalised with windows,  basins, toilets, pipes, light fittings and more either stolen or smashed.

It appear as if the burglar guards were forced open to the main door of the clubhouse to gain entrance.  Cutlery, crockery and other goods were also taken.

The break-in comes at a time when the Tennis Club was in the process of winding up due to a dramatic drop in the number of members in recent years.

The plan was to hand over much of the equipment to a needy cause but Edwin Meyer said the facility, which is badly overgrown, will be simply handed back to the Municipality.
