Ladysmith KZN: No streetlights makes resident afraid for her life

"How do we live in darkness?"

A young female who works in the CBD says that when she has to drive home at night after work, she is so afraid, as it’s pitch-dark.

“Kandahar Avenue hasn’t had streetlights for the past two years. When I drive home at night – because I am the only vehicle on the road – I don’t  stop at red robots or stop streets, as I fear being hijacked,” she explains.

She adds that the situation has become a nightmare.

“I have called the municipality numerous times and they say they are going to fix the lights, but it’s been ages now and nothing has been done. How do we live in darkness?” she questions.
