ESTCOURT KZN: Illegal dumping concerns flare up at hot-spot

The resident is making a public plea to neighbours as well as the local municipality to help curb the illegal dumping in Tenth Avenue

Tenth Avenue in Forderville has become a haven for illegal dumping. One side of the road has been completely overtaken by refuse that is also spilling onto the road.

A resident from the area says that people from neighbouring streets are often seen dumping their garden or household waste there.

“If we ask them not to dump here, they start to argue and sometimes it’s not the homeowners themselves doing the dumping, but rather a garden helper who was given instructions on where to dump the waste,” said the resident who asked not to be named.

The heaps of waste, according to the resident, also attract flies and dogs, which worsens the situation. The resident is making a public plea to neighbours as well as the local municipality to help curb the illegal dumping in Tenth Avenue.

“Please stop dumping here. We have to wake up to a mess right outside our front door,” said the resident.
