NEWCASTLE KZN: ‘Disability is not the end of the world’ says Narina Singh

Narina aims to eradicate stereotypes and prejudice against the physically challenged.

Narina Singh wants to do everything, from busting myths to strutting her stuff on the runway.

The local beauty queen hopeful, who suffered severe injuries and is now disabled after a collision some years ago, decided to join the Mrs South Africa 2021 pageant. She is now a semi-finalist in the contest.

Narina explained she aims to use her personal experience of suffering and adversity to support those in similar situations, with the ultimate goal of eliminating prejudice and discrimination towards the physically challenged in the workplace and in general society.

“Just because you have a disability doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world, or that you can’t go to the mall, work or marry. I use a range of assistive devices to remain mobile, independent, and dignified,” she explained.
