According to Alfred Duma Local Municipality’s communications manager, there will be no refuse collection today (July 5) due to staff members undergoing Covid-19 testing. The cleansing and solid waste employees are going for tests as well.

People who are due for their refuse to be collected today are urged to ensure that no illegal dumping takes place.

Households are requested to manage their own refuse through having sufficient bin bags for the disposal of all domestic and household waste.

Residents are also advised to take their refuse bags back into their yards to avoid dogs ripping them apart. 

Council would like to appeal for compliance and observation of waste management protocol during this period, noting that the environment within which we live needs to be clean and tidy to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.
