Police, Public Safety and the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) are currently on scene after FREE ZUMA protesters targeted hawkers’ shacks in Illing Road. They set the shacks on fire.

Public Safety officers are trying their best to put out the blaze, but the flames are fierce and powerful. 

SANDF soldiers are patrolling areas in town to ensure safety, and police are also on patrol in the streets.

It is advisable for people to stay indoors and not go out, as violence continues to erupt in the CBD area.
