Vuyelwa sadly passed away at Milpark Hospital on Sunday evening

Jackson Mdakane’s two daughters were involved in the horrific car crash that took place on Monday morning, July 5, on the bypass near Ladysmith Truck Stop.

Jackson’s elder daughter, Lihle Mdakane, lost her life in the crash and was declared dead at the scene.

His other daughter, Vuyelwa Mdakane (17), sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital by emergency personnel.

On Tuesday night, July 6, a Netcare 911 chopper flew into town and landed at Ladysmith Regional Hospital to airlift Vuyelwa to Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg.

Sadly, Vuyelwa passed away at Milpark Hospital on Sunday evening at about 18:30 due to the serious injuries she sustained in the crash.

Vuyelwa was in Grade 11 at Ladysmith High School (LHS).
