VRYHEID KZN: Golfers hit the greens in aid of fund-raiser
The event was earmarked for the youth of the church

It was a cold Saturday morning, but the weather did not deter the eager and dedicated golfers from taking to the course in aid of the Vryheid NG Kerk Suid-Oos fund-raiser. The event was earmarked for the youth of the church. It is common knowledge by now that most organisations cannot have a normal fund-raiser like in the past. Bazaars have become drive-thru events, and most other events have to be attended ‘virtually’. The coronavirus pandemic has taken its toll on every aspect of people’s lives, but human beings are an adaptable species and make do with what they have… and this is no different when it comes to fund-raising. Close to 100 golfers supported the church event, which shows once again how this community comes together to support local businesses and institutions. Some of the prizes on the day included meat and biltong hampers, cooler boxes and even a weekend away.
The results are as follows:
First place – B van Eden (51)
Second place – W Swinden (50)
Third place – B Nelsen (49)
Nearest to the pin:
Ladies – Liezel Smit
Men – E Zungu
Longest Drive:
Ladies – Liezel Smit
Men – B van Eden
Vryheid NG Kerk Suid-Oos would like to thank all the sponsors who contributed to a very successful day.
