Heavy rain leads to more flooding around town
Motorists are advised to stay away from low-lying areas

The Ladysmith CBD is under water once again as rain continues to fall.
Today (January 16) has seen Settlers Drive, King Street, Queen Street and Alexandra Street falling victim to flooding.

Bell Spruit also flooded as rain fell throughout the day.
Motorists are advised to stay away from the low-lying areas of town.
uThukela District Municipality would like to inform the community that they are currently experiencing high water turbidity at the Ezakheni Water Treatment Works. They say this can be mainly attributed to the heavy downpours that have caused flash floods in several residential areas and villages across Alfred Duma Local Municipality.
When there is high water turbidity at the plant, they are unable to pump and supply water to various communities. Residents are therefore encouraged to store enough water until the system is stabilised.
