Taxi unrest continues between Madadeni and Bambanani Taxi Associations:

Motorists are warned to stay clear of the P2 Road leading to Mdakane, Osizweni as unrest between the Madadeni and Bambanani Taxi Associations continues.

According to a confidential source, tensions rose outside Theku Plaza yesterday (January 27).

This came after drivers from both associations clashed over the route from Madadeni to Osizweni.

“They began fighting with sticks and threw stones at each other. After that, there was a shootout, in which three people were injured and two killed,” said the source.

It is believed that the standoff between the two associations is currently still on-going in the area.

Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes when travelling today.
