Sentraal show resilience in gloomy conditions
They were 0-15 down at the break and showed true grit in the second half to put points on the board.

Although going down 29-19 to a much more experienced Newcastle Highlanders side at ‘home’ on Saturday, April 9, Sentraal’s rugby players could walk off the sodden field in the knowledge that they had shown great resilience.
They were 0-15 down at the break and showed true grit in the second half to put points on the board.
Conditions were gloomy and the constant rain made for difficult handling.
At one stage, the Highlanders threatened to run amok against their younger opponents, but a half-time pep talk from Sentraal coach Danie Vermaak seemed to boost the local team’s morale.
Two breakaway tries put the skids under the visitors. The Sentraal supporters were far from happy with the referee’s decision-making and were not shy to vent their anger from the stands. Hopes are high that Sentraal will use this game as a foundation to build a better season which will see lots of local rugby.
