Pothole problem soon to be a thing of the past?
The Bomag 'rollers' will be used in the compaction of potholes around town
Alfred Duma Local Municipality now has three new ‘yellow machines’ to help in the war against the town’s pothole problem.
Mayor Zama Sibisi, together with Deputy Mayor Thulasizwe Simelane, handed over three Bomag compacting machines on Friday, May 20. The equipment was received by the manager of the municipality’s Technical & Infrastructure Department, Nokuthula Buthelezi.
Speaking during the handover, the mayor said that these three ‘roller’ machines would help the municipality to fix potholes quicker.

He further encouraged community members to consult their ward councillors when reporting potholes. “If people aren’t getting any help, they must feel free to contact the office of the mayor and give us all the details. We will then be able to assist,” he concluded.
