Weekend report: two injured in Allen Street collision
The force of impact sent the bakkie across the island and into a streetlight.
At approximately 21:15 on Saturday night, two vehicles collided at the intersection of Allen Street and Victoria Road.
At the time of the collision, according to officials at the scene, a bakkie was travelling along Allen Street while a car was travelling down Victoria Road. The force of impact sent the bakkie veering over the island and into a street light on the opposite side of the road.
Emergency services officials responded to the collision scene to marshall traffic and attend to the injured motorists.
Both the drivers were rushed to hospital by ambulance,” said an onlooker at the scene.
The seriousness of the injuries are unknown at this stage, and the cause of the collision is subject to investigations.
