Accused loan shark remanded in custody after bail is denied
In his decision, the Magistrate referred back to the new facts presented by the accused’s attorney, Advocate Simphiwe Mlotshwa.
Sthembiso Mlambo, the accused loan shark, will be held in custody for the duration of his trial after Magistrate Khanyile denied his second bail application in the Madadeni Magistrate’s Court last Wednesday (April 4).
The Magistrate referred back to the new facts presented by the accused’s attorney, Advocate Simphiwe Mlotshwa, in his decision.
Mlotshwa claims the accused suffers from a chronic illness and has lost weight since his arrest.
Sergeant Kunene, the investigating officer, argued on the stand that there is no evidence to support the applicant’s claims of a chronic condition or ill health.
