The Amajuba District Municipality hosted a campaign to promote cleanliness at the Mdakane area in Dannhauser.
Led by Amajuba District Deputy Mayor, T. Mthembu and the Disaster Management Unit, the purpose of this campaign was to clean residential areas with the aim of preventing diseases caused by the illegal dumping of waste on roadsides.
During the campaign, held in Monday (September 18), Mthembu addressed the members of ward 12 on cleanliness and the importance of protecting the environment.
“We appeal to all of you to keep your places clean. Let us take care of our surroundings so that we can fight waste-related diseases,” he said.
Mthembu also took the time to encourage members of the public to use the resources available at the Thusong Centre in Mdakane and the library to obtain from the Department of Labour for those looking for work, the Department of Home Affairs, and the Department of Community Development.
