High winds cause power outages and topple trees

The municipality is already on scene

High winds toppled a tree in Sparks Road, leaving parts of town without electricity.

As the tree dropped, it smashed into an electricity pole, causing power outages for most of the lower end of the CBD.

Power in several areas has already been restored, with municipal officials already on scene.

Reports of other trees being blown over have also been received.
