Elderly woman collapses and dies along Voortrekker Street
An elderly woman has collapsed and died outside a business on Voortrekker Street in the Central Business District (CBD), earlier this morning.
According to representatives of TRIVS Emergency Medical Services, they received a call for help shortly after 06:00 this morning (November 21).
Witnesses at the scene claimed the woman had been standing there since 02:00 to ensure her pre-paid meter would be upgraded before the deadline this coming weekend.
It was around 06:00 that she allegedly said she wasn’t feeling well before she collapsed.
TRIVS arrived at the scene shortly after the call and tried their best to resuscitate the victim before finally declaring her dead.
The exact cause of death is unclear at this stage and will remain subject to further investigations.
