Police and CPF hold crime prevention dialogue

The purpose of the dialogue was to raise awareness and educate the community about the duties of various organisations like the SAPS, Correctional Services, social workers, NPA, Department of Health, Safety & Liaison, Home Affairs, Othaka Tribal Authority and many other stakeholders.

Vryheid SAPS, together with the Community Policing Forum (CPF), conducted a crime prevention dialogue at King Zwelithini Hall recently.
The purpose of the dialogue was to raise awareness and educate the community about the duties of various organisations like the SAPS, Correctional Services, social workers, NPA, Department of Health, Safety & Liaison, Home Affairs, Othaka Tribal Authority and many other stakeholders.
Residents came out in numbers to attend the event. It was an eye-opener for many community members as acting station commander Lieutenant Colonel Mzimela explained the various procedures at police stations when one wants to open a case at the charge office.
Officials from different organisations shared the stage to educate Vryheid residents on how to seek help from their respective departments / organisations.
AbaQulusi Mayor Mr Mkhwanazi thanked the organisers, as well as all the organisations involved, for taking time to help the community understand the various departments and how they work. He acknowledged the good work done by the local CPF in and around the municipality.
