Easter Weekend 2025: Celebrate Easter on budget
Don't let the fact that your budget is not as big as you'd like it to be stop you enjoying Easter the traditional old way!
Easter is a holiday celebrated by many people and one which has been celebrated for many centuries.
Chocolate Easter bunnies, coloured eggs, marshmallows and the eagerly anticipated Easter egg hunt all serve to make Easter special, but it is also what wrecks our pockets and has us blowing our monthly budget to pieces.

Come on, Easter items have become outrageously expensive!
But for those Easter-obsessed individuals who survive on a string-tight budget, this one’s for you!
Below are four tips that will let you have your Easter celebration without breaking the bank:
- Everyone should be contributing to Easter lunch:

Hosting Easter family dinner at home?
Reduce the cost and have everyone contribute to salads, wine and even dessert.
You also don’t need to spend the bank on wine because many supermarkets have great deals on the cheaper wine.
- Host a fun Easter egg hunt in your backyard:

Wake up early and decorate your backyard with baskets and paper DIY bunny.
Find creative spots to hide the eggs, make a funky map and let the kids enjoy themselves in the comfort of their own home.
Make it more exciting and prepare a cute Easter hamper for the winner of the hunt.
You don’t have to spend a lot of money to have fun.
Remember, ultimately at the end of the day, the point of Easter is to spend quality time with your friends and family, and to give thanks.
- You do not really need new clothes:

As kids, we used to get new outfits for the Easter family get-together, but frankly, we do not necessarily have to spend so much on an outfit which we will only be wearing for a few hours.
It is a waste of money!
Open your closet, pick a neat and clean outfit, and exchange your accessories. A lovely necklace and bracelet can make any outfit look new.
- D.I.Y is always fun:

We can all agree that Easter eggs are much too expensive, so why not make and decorate your own Easter eggs?
Melting chocolate doesn’t cost that much, and neither do molds.
Here you can get really creative. You decide what color the eggs will be and what they will have on them.
