Easter Weekend 2025: Top tips for decorating Easter eggs
One of the best ways to keep kids out of trouble over the holidays is to assign them the duty of decorating Easter eggs.
Now that the holidays are here, Easter egg decorating is a wonderful way to keep children occupied.
Parents are generally at a loss during extended holidays as to how to keep the children out of mischief.
Egg decorating is an enjoyable solution to this problem.
Here are our top tips for children, to ensure their Easter eggs are glorious:

Where to begin?
If you are decorating Easter eggs, you will need to first prepare the eggs for decoration.
White eggs are widely believed to be ideal for emphasizing designs.
There are two ways of preparing the eggs – pre-emptying them or hard boiling them.
Obviously, pre-emptying the egg means that it will not have to be thrown away.
If you’re emptying the eggs, use a needle to pierce the shell and the yolk for convenience sake.
Then blow into one of the holes in the egg, after which a good rinse is in order.
For hard boiled eggs, begin with the eggs at room temperature, to prevent shells from cracking.
Place the eggs into a pot with water and slowly raise the temperature to a boil.
Remove the pot from heat and let the lid stay on for 15 minutes (larger eggs could take longer).
Some cool ideas:
Put drops of nail polish in a bowl of warm water (the polish should float on the surface of the water; if not, the water is either too hot or too cold).
Create patterns in the nail polish with a toothpick.
Hold the egg, submerge it in the polish water and let it dry.
Nail polish remover is suggested for washing your fingers afterward.
Alternatively, cut masking tape into strips or shapes, and apply to the eggs.
Paint the eggs your chosen colour and leave to dry.
Carefully peel off the tape and your design will be revealed.
