Golf day brings community together in support of Ferrum
“A great deal of planning and teamwork went into hosting the event. Our staff, sponsors and organising committee spent many months preparing for the day, securing sponsorships, co-ordinating players, arranging prizes and ensuring that every detail was in place. The success of the event was truly a team effort,” said school marketer Charissa Roodt.
“Our goal was to enjoy strong community support, raise funds for the school, and provide a fun-filled day for everyone involved. We were fortunate to have fantastic weather, excellent participation and overwhelming support from the Newcastle community, which helped us achieve all of these goals.”
This year’s event saw incredible community involvement and support from sponsors and golfers alike.
“The atmosphere throughout the day was outstanding, making it one of the most memorable Ferrum Roots Golf Days to date,” continued Roodt.
“One of the biggest highlights was seeing the community come together in support of Ferrum High School. The camaraderie among players, sponsors, staff and supporters created a wonderful atmosphere throughout the day. It was especially rewarding to see months of planning come together so successfully.”
“We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our main sponsor, Roots Butchery, as well as the entire Newcastle community for supporting our fundraising initiatives. Events like these would not be possible without your generosity and commitment to Ferrum High School. Your support makes a meaningful difference and we are truly grateful,” she concluded, offering congratulations to all the winners and participants who contributed to the success of the day.
“We thank every golfer, sponsor, volunteer and supporter who made the 2026 Ferrum Roots Golf Day a memorable and successful event.”
