Thinasonke celebrates labour relations graduates
Six practitioners earned accredited labour relations diplomas with Thinasonke Training Consultancy.
Thinasonke Training Consultancy celebrated the graduation of six labour relations practitioners during a ceremony held at the Newcastle Club on June 26.
Graduates complete accredited labour relations qualification
The graduates completed the National Diploma in Labour Relations Practice: Dispute Resolution (NQF Level 5), a qualification accredited by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) and the Services Sector Education and Training Authority (SSETA).
The qualification equips learners with specialised knowledge and practical skills in labour law and labour dispute resolution.
It comprises 60% theoretical learning and 40% practical workplace training, ensuring that graduates are well prepared to apply their knowledge in professional settings.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr Gugu Buthelezi, who congratulated the graduates on their achievements and encouraged them to uphold excellence, professionalism and ethical leadership throughout their careers.
The graduating class comprised experienced labour law practitioners who represent a range of organisations in disputes before the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation & Arbitration (CCMA) and bargaining councils.
They included a qualified paralegal employed by Legal Aid South Africa, senior human resources managers with extensive experience in employee relations and labour dispute representation, qualified interpreters serving the CCMA and the Department of Justice, and a qualified teacher / trade union representative who regularly represents union members in labour disputes.
Speaking on behalf of Thinasonke Training Consultancy, labour law specialist Bheki Khumalo said:
“Graduation is more than acquiring a diploma. It represents a commitment to professionalism, the acquisition of skills that can be demonstrated through performance, ethical practice and lifelong learning. We are proud of our graduates and look forward to seeing them make a positive impact in workplaces and within the labour law arena.”
