Lions bite hard to claim T20 cricket crown

Jihadees came into bat and found it very difficult to accumulate quick runs

Jihadees took on Paki Lions in the T20 Final on Wednesday night. On a good batting track, Paki Lions won the toss and elected to bat. Some excellent batting from the openers and some big hitting at the end of the innings help Paki Lions amass 166 runs for 7 wickets.

Opener, Nathaniel Benjamin, showed his class with 73 runs off 48 balls which included 8 x 4’s and 2 x 6’s, Ashfaq Mohammed and Jonathan Benjamin finished the innings with a quick-fire 34 and 18 respectively. The best of the Jihadees bowlers were Bilaal Docrat with 3 for 30 and Saleh with 2 for 40.

Jihadees came into bat and found it very difficult to accumulate quick runs. They were soon in trouble at 54 for 5 in the 10th over. A great knock by Jihadees captain, Labeeb Adams, of 42 runs off 37 balls (3 x 4, 1 x6) was a little too late, as Jihadees finished on 110 runs for 7 wickets in 18.4 overs, when load shedding brought the game to an abrupt end. Paki Lions were declared champions on the Duckworth – Lewis method by 42 runs.
