Cable thieves knock out Dundee’s power

It is thought criminals used the cover of load shedding to cut the cabling

The Dundee area has been without power since 11pm last night after thieves stole overhead Eskom cables.

It is thought that criminals used the cover of load shedding to cut the cables that feed the main sub station/s to the town.

The copper is sold to rogue scrap dealers. Eskom is carrying out repairs and no timeline has been given for the restoration of power.
