Man found hanging by his neck from a tree

The man was found by a passer by who alerted a traffic officer who was patrolling in the area

A vigilante killing is suspected after a man was found hanging from a tree in a clump of trees on the Dundee/Wasbank road yesterday, Wednesday, morning.

Witnesses said a passer-by made the grisly discovery and told a passing traffic officer.

It was found that the man had been first beaten and possibly dragged to the tree, leading to speculation that he was killed elsewhere.

The man, believed to be from Nquthu, is yet to be named and a police investigation is continuing.
