Driver shot and injured on the R33

The victim managed to drive into Dundee to sound the alarm and seek medical help

A case of attempted murder was opened after a 47-year-old man was attacked and shot at while driving his work vehicle on the R33 (Dundee/Helpmekaar road), close to KwaSithole (Stratford farm) at about 3 pm Wednesday afternoon, July 19.

According to the SAPS Communications Department, the victim sustained various gunshot wounds but managed to drive himself into Dundee where he was given assistance and transported to the local hospital.

A case of an attempted murder has been opened pending an investigation, SAPS confirmed.
