SAPS make drug bust in central Dundee

The suspect was pulled over, ironically, around the corner from the local magistrate's court.

A Nigerian national was arrested in central Dundee on Sunday after he was found in possession of 28 small bags of cocaine.
Responding to a tip-off about a man driving around the Dundee CBD allegedly pedalling drugs, a police patrol stopped the 33-year-old’s vehicle on the corner of Ann and Grey Street. The car was searched and the drugs were seized by Sergeant Kalicharan and Constable Anderson. The suspect is set to appear in court this week.

Cattle recovered
In a separate incident, 11 stolen cattle were recovered on Friday by the Umzinyathi District Task Team in a wooded area on a farm in the Dundee policing area.
Umzinyathi District SAPS spokesperson Constable Siyabonga Nkwanyana said that 12 head of cattle had been reported stolen from Paddafontein Farm in the Helpmekaar area last week. Following up on information that the cattle were being kept on a farm and were about to be sold, police went and recovered the livestock.
The lawful owner positively identified the animals; they were then handed back to the owner.
One cow is still to be returned.
