Dannhauser opens state-of-the-art library to boost community learning
Dannhauser opens a new library at Mdakane, giving learners, teachers and residents a modern space to learn, research and grow.
A new state-of-the-art library has officially opened at Mdakane, Dannhauser, providing residents with a new space for learning, research and development.
KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Sport, Arts and Culture Mntomuhle Khawula encouraged the community to make full use of the facility and take responsibility for protecting it.
“We have brought this state-of-the-art library to you to use. Young and old, this library belongs to you. You must look after it and protect it,” said Khawula.
He said the library had the potential to change lives and urged residents not to allow the facility to go unused.
Community urged to protect facility
Inkosi Madoda Nkosi of the KwaNkosi Traditional Authority said it was a privilege for the community to have a modern library.
“We are happy to have a state-of-the-art library under the KwaNkosi nation. Look after it so that we do not return tomorrow to find it damaged. Future generations must also be able to use this library,” he said.
Dannhauser Mayor Cllr Bongane Radebe welcomed the opening, saying the facility would benefit residents, including learners, teachers and adults.
Majuba District Mayor Cllr Thembelihle Mthembu also welcomed the construction and official opening of the library in the district. Mthembu introduced Khawula as the guest speaker.
The opening was accompanied by the presentation of football jerseys to schools surrounding the new library, adding a sporting element to the community celebration.
