Sentraal to officially open new rugby home in Glencoe on May 4

Delmarie Kriel said that Sentraal, a registered NPO, is also looking for other sponsors to come forward to assist. "We want to make this venue a real home for all our sports people.

After 16 successful years of playing at the Dundee High School fields, the rugby club was forced to move after the rent became untenable.
However, club secretary Delmarie Kriel said that players and management are looking forward to setting up home in Glencoe – which, ironically, was the original home of local rugby before that venue fell into disrepair.
The Glencoe venue has since been renovated, thanks to funding from the then Buffalo Coal and the municipality.
“Unfortunately, there is no clubhouse as such, so we are hoping to raise funds to build one,” Delmarie told the Courier.

The floodlights that Sentraal paid for and installed at Dundee High are to be removed and sold to raise money.
“May 4 will be a big day, as we are hoping for former players to come through on the day to support us.
“We will be playing against Volksrust at 3.30pm, but we want to make a day of it by encouraging people to put up stalls where they can sell food, crafts, etc.”

There will also be entertainment for the kids.

Anyone wishing to book a stall or wanting more information is asked to contact Delmarie on 072 698 8220.
