Robert Khumalo pockets R1500 in first Dundee LIV golf event

This LIV competition will become an annual event with bigger prizes to be won - nine more rounds to be played in different formats in the future.

Dundee Country Club hosted their first LIV golf event on Wednesday last week in fine weather conditions, with 62 golfers participating in an IPS Stableford format. The committee and members would like to thank Neels van Dyk from PR Mining for the generous sponsorship and the other sponsors who contributed towards raising funds for the club.

The winner was ‘Mr Consistent’ Robert Khumalo with 40 points, who pocketed R1500, with Wessel Odendaal in second, whose 39 points earned him R700 on a count-out from R Albertse, who won R300.
Nearest the pins: no. 8 – A Vali and no. 16 – R Albertse, who claimed R500 each for their efforts.

The club would like to thank the following members and staff: Jo and the course staff members for the excellent condition of the course; Thando in the Pro Shop; Linda and the kitchen staff for the meals during the day; Dolly Bradbury and Kevin for doing the scoreboard; and all staff members of the club.
The next round will be played on May 25 in the format of 4BBB Stableford.

“The final in the series of LIV events, which will be the ninth game of the tournament, is open to any handicapped player and may win the prizes for the day as per the advert on this page,” said the club’s Dave Donaldson.
“The jackpot, however, will go to the winner of the day, who has played a minimum of six of the eight games leading up to the final.
“As this is a new concept to our club, cash prizes for the final are subject to us having good fields at each game, so please spread the word and get your names up on the players’ list.”
