MK takes early voting honours in Endumeni with the DA also putting in a strong showing

Voters said they were proud to vote and 'make a difference' but complained that many IEC officials appeared not to have been fully trained.

Following yesterday’s national elections, early election results from several voting stations in Endumeni show that the MK Party has beaten the ANC for support in at least three voting districts.

While the DA lead (722 votes) at Dundee Junior, MK garnered 418 votes and the ANC just 66 (all national ballot results)

At the Glenridge Hall, Glencoe, MK pipped the DA by six votes – 1012 to 1006.

At the Glencoe Town Hall, the DA took 474 votes, MK 406, the IFP 99 and the ANC 61.

All the results have to be confirmed but observers said it appeared as if MK would be the leading party in both the Umzinyathi and Amajuba districts – as far as more urban areas are concerned.

There were long lines in voting stations in Sibongile and Sithembile with many complaining of the slow process.
