The incident unfolded when the driver noticed smoke emanating from the back of the vehicle. Promptly, he pulled over and, along with several passengers, exited the taxi. The fire quickly spread, and onlookers in the area immediately contacted the fire brigade for assistance.

The Endumeni Fire Brigade responded swiftly, but the taxi was gutted. While the cause of the fire remains unclear, an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
