IFP yet to confirm axing of Umzinyathi Mayor

The Umzinyathi Municipality has been in the spotlight following the ongoing water crisis that has left many taps dry for months.

Rumours that long-serving Umzinyathi District Mayor, Petros Ngubane, has been removed from his post are yet to be confirmed by the IFP.
News of his so-called ‘recalling’ emerged yesterday on social media.

The rumour comes following a huge protest march in Dundee over ongoing water cuts in Endumeni and allegations of widespread maladministration within the District Municipality.
The Auditor General again gave the Municipality a poor performance report and it has been under administration for several years.
