Two men sentenced to 25 years for raping schoolgirl

Due preyed on a teen girl during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Two men who raped a 16-year-old Nquthu schoolgirl will spend the next 25 years behind bars.
Ntokozo Ngobese (25) and Sifiso Buthelezi (25) were sentenced in the Nquthu Regional Court for raping the girl in the Ntshongweni area in June 2020 – at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The court heard that the girl met the two men while walking home.
They forced her into a nearby field, where they forcefully undressed her and raped her.

The girl later reported the attack at Charles Johnson Memorial Hospital and the police were alerted.
A methodical investigation by Detective Sergeant Dlamini of the Dundee Family Violence, Child Protection & Sexual Offences Unit resulted in the arrests.
Dlamini was praised for his good police work that led to the sentencing.
