Bail application resumes for Dundee armed robbers

The State is opposing their release after a dramatic multi-unit operation led to arrests and the recovery of stolen goods.

The bail application of the five men accused of armed robbery at Dundee’s Exact Store – Brian Dlamini, Nduza Sithole, Sabelo Masikane, Ayanda Dube and Ntandoyevkosi Cele – resumed in the Dundee Magistrate’s Court last Tuesday for a bail application. The state will be opposing the application.

The men allegedly entered the store on April 26 and made off with cash, clothing and cellphones.
Various security companies, Dundee SAPS and the Umzinyathi Task Team, along with the K9 units from Glencoe and Ladysmith, responded to the call-out.

Two men, both aged 30, were tracked down and arrested in the Uitval area of Ekuvukeni.
The authorities also recovered stolen cellphones and clothing.
Further intelligence revealed that the getaway vehicle was headed towards Pietermaritzburg. Responding quickly, members of the SAPS PMB K9 Unit, Flying Squad, Balid, Magma and Fidelity Security intercepted the vehicle.
