Dundee SPCA calls for support as Mandela Day nears

Dundee SPCA urges public to donate or volunteer ahead of Mandela Day to help restore its ageing kennels.

With Mandela Day fast approaching on Friday, July 18, the Dundee SPCA is appealing to the community to support their efforts in caring for abandoned and abused animals.

Veteran staff member Peter Dlamini, who has served at the SPCA for over 34 years, recently gave the Courier a walk-through of the shelter. Many of the kennels are in dire need of repair, and both volunteer assistance and donations are urgently required to keep the facility operational.

In honour of Mandela Day’s 67-minute community service campaign, the SPCA is asking residents to donate just R67 to help improve conditions for the animals in their care.
