Rotary brings warmth to Dundee through Winter Fund-raiser
Dundee Rotary Club brings warmth to those in need with blankets and beanies from its winter fund-raiser.
Dundee Rotary Club has once again extended a helping hand to those in need with its successful Winter Warmth Bowling Fund-raiser, held at the Dundee Bowling Club.
Rotarian Bev Garner expressed heartfelt gratitude to those who took part.
“To all the brave bowlers and novices who supported our Rotary Winter Warmth drive, a loud and heartfelt thank you! And an even louder thank you to the Dundee Bowling Club for hosting and promoting this event,” she said.
Blankets donated on the day were handed over to the Dundee Adult Centre, while funds raised made it possible to purchase an additional 150 large, fleecy blankets at a nominal price from a Newcastle-based manufacturer. Warm beanies were also included in the care packs.
Distribution took place earlier in July to local organisations including Melusi, ABH, KwaRie, and St Antonie Home in Uitval. In addition, several families and individuals received blankets and beanies through the Full Gospel Church and Rotary volunteers.
Dundee Rotary Club has thanked all supporters for helping bring comfort and warmth to the community during the chilly season.
