Monday message: Show love and kindness to help build a better world

Choose love, patience, and kindness to foster peace and unity in your community and beyond.

“Love is patient and kind,” someone once wrote. It is not arrogant or boastful. It does not dishonour others, pursue selfish interests, or become easily angered. Love keeps no record of wrongs. It rejoices with the truth, not with wrongdoing. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails.

Whoever wrote those lines had time to reflect and beautifully capture the essence of love. Yet, as human beings, we often fall short. When we neglect the environment or disregard each other, it becomes difficult to believe we could live peacefully.

Without genuine care and compassion for one another, how can we expect a kind and harmonious society? Love doesn’t require us to be close friends, neighbours, or to share the same beliefs. It simply requires us to care.

Without love, there is no patience. Without kindness, there is no peace. Love never dishonours—it inspires respect, tolerance, and understanding. Those who profess love must live it, not by keeping a tally of wrongs, but by staying hopeful and standing firm through challenges.

Why take pleasure in wrongdoing when love allows us to celebrate truth and goodness? It shouldn’t matter what race, religion, or background we come from. Let us show kindness and affection freely—it is very possible.
