Dundee Bowling Club hosts thrilling KZN singles playoffs and district trials

Dundee Bowling Club welcomed top players for the KZN singles playoffs, celebrating winners and new district team selections.

Dundee Bowling Club was alive with action recently as it hosted the KwaZulu-Natal Country Bowls (KZNCB) Open and Veteran Singles Playoffs, alongside the district trials.

The four-day event delivered top-class bowls and strong camaraderie both on and off the greens, adding to the competitive spirit.

In the Open Playoffs, John Douthwaite and Alice Howe, both from Newcastle, emerged as champions. In the Veterans category, Richard Allan from Empangeni and Barbara Baleri from Ladysmith took top honours.

The club also congratulated members chosen to represent the KZNCB District at the upcoming President’s Cup in Zululand this October.

A special highlight was the presence of Springbok bowler Francesca Baleri – who has represented South Africa in Australia and Namibia – serving as one of the selectors for the trials.

Well done to all the players, organisers and supporters who made the event a resounding success.
