The bats, gloves and ball may be packed away until next season, but on Saturday, the focus was on celebrating past achievements as the Accounting Solutions cricket team hosted its annual prize giving at Amabutho Lodge.

An upbeat atmosphere filled the evening as players and supporters reflected on a competitive season. While the Paki Lions claimed bragging rights in this year’s league, Accounting Solutions made it clear they have big plans for the future.

The club is considering launching a development side to give young players opportunities and to ensure local talent remains in the town.

“It is important for up-and-coming players to be recognised and given exposure to help grow the sport locally,” said club management member Naveen Ramgoolam.

The evening ended with the club looking ahead to the next season with optimism, both for its senior side and the development of local youth cricket.
