DHS’s gala evening steals the show
DHS shows great versatility with sporting and cultural highlights.
On Saturday, Dundee High School’s (DHS) first boys’ cricket team travelled to Ladysmith.
The home side came out aggressively with the bat, but DHS fought back with key breakthroughs from Kiandri Bierbaum and Ryno Labuschagne.
Heindre Smit claimed the prized wicket of Ladysmith’s opener and top scorer, before Stuart Talanda ripped through the middle order with three quick wickets.
Ladysmith were eventually bowled out for 213.
In reply, DHS struggled with the bat, managing only 100 runs.
Top scorers were Stuart Talanda (30) and Dillan Guelpa (26).
The best bowlers were Talanda with three wickets, while Bierbaum, Labuschagne and Smit took two apiece.
Tennis:
Congratulations to Aryan Mungru, who has been selected for the Northern KZN tennis team in second place. Three DHS girls also made the team, namely Chanelle Pillay, Azariah Pillay and Mandie Conradie – the latter taking first place.
DHS gala evening
DHS hosted their first gala evening on Saturday. Needless to say, it was a huge success. Thanks to Mrs Kelbrick for organising the event, Mr Nkambule for delivering an amazing choir performance (once again) and Mr Blom for his angelic voice. Not only was this an evening of glitz and glamour, but it was also an opportunity for learners to show off their talents. Here’s looking forward to the next one!
