Dundee Hindu Temple invites community to join Navaratri celebrations
Dundee Hindu Temple invites all to attend Navaratri and take part in daily rituals, prayer, and meals.
The officials, members, and devotees of the Dundee Hindu Temple and the Dundee Durga Murti Committee have extended a warm invitation to the public to join in this year’s Navaratri celebrations, taking place from September 23 to October 1.
The nine-day Hindu festival honours the Divine Mother and is marked by daily rituals, prayer services, and devotional gatherings. Each day begins with Abeshagam at 06:00, followed by evening services at 18:00. Supper will be served daily after the evening rituals.
Key highlights of the festival programme include:

Wednesday, September 24: Pumpkin Bali Pooja at 18:00

Sunday, September 28: Chandi Hawan and Kanya Pooja at 10:00

Tuesday, September 30: Saraswathi Pooja Hawan at 18:00

Wednesday, October 1: (Vijaya Dashmi): Dashmi Pooja at 09:00, followed by River Pooja at 10:30 and a lunch.
The temple welcomes everyone in the community to attend and receive the blessings of the Divine Mother. The committee expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the families sponsoring daily meals, including the Lalla, Chunder, Aku, Manraj, Hargovan, Naidoo, Jhilmeet, Ramdharee, Bujram, Pillay, and Singh families.
