Dundee man hands himself over after girlfriend’s murder

A 55-year-old suspect has handed himself over to Dundee police after his girlfriend was found murdered in Craigside.

A 55-year-old man has been arrested after handing himself over to the Dundee police and confessing to killing his girlfriend.

Police spokesperson, Constable Siyabonga Nkwanyana, confirmed that the suspect arrived at the Dundee Community Service Centre on the afternoon of  Tuesday, September 30. He informed officers that he had killed his girlfriend following a quarrel at Craigside under the Dundee policing precinct.

His girlfriend had been stabbed with a screwdriver.

“Police immediately accompanied the suspect to the address, where the body of the female victim was discovered lying on a bed with visible injuries,” said Constable Nkwanyana.

The body was removed to the Dundee mortuary for further examination. The suspect remains in custody and is expected to appear in court soon.
