A bystander, who spoke to the Courier on condition of anonymity, said the violence erupted after a drinking session at a nearby bar. According to the witness, one man turned a broken bottle into a weapon, stabbing another during the altercation.

A trail of blood could be traced from the Courier office, across the road, and in the direction of One Life Church on Gladstone Street. The witness claimed the victim had suffered a wound to the head, though his current condition remains unclear.

SAPS has been approached for comment. Their response will be published once received.
