Father dies, son injured in Glenridge shooting

A father died and his son was injured in a suspected robbery shooting at their Glenridge home early Monday morning.

An early morning shooting shocked residents of Glenridge on Monday, leaving a father dead and his son injured in a suspected robbery.

Family attacked at home before work

According to Glencoe Community Watch members, who spoke to the Courier on condition of anonymity, the family was preparing to leave for work at their Schroeders Road home at around 5.30 am when at least four men confronted them.

Neighbours reported hearing several shots being fired – striking both the father and his son.

The father later succumbed to his injuries. A suspect fled into a nearby field, prompting a manhunt.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The deceased was later identified as Ramesh Ramdeyal. The Courier expresses condolences to the bereaved family.
