Mystery surrounds the tragic shooting incident at a traditional wedding in the Hlathi dam area in Nquthu on Sunday afternoon.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda confirmed that two men were shot dead and three women injured in the shooting shortly after 4pm.

A chase ensured which led Dundee SAPS and private securit personnel to the R33 on the Vryheid road. A man was held for questioning near De Jager’s Drift.

Netshinunda said an intensive investigation is underway
