Man arrested with unlicensed firearm
The recovered firearm will be subjected to ballistic testing to ascertain if it has been used in any crimes in the country
Acting on information received, Amangwe (Loskop) police nabbed a man with an illegal firearm.
The Visible Policing Unit made their way to the KwaVala area, where they spotted a man fitting the description of the suspect they were after.
“Upon searching him, they discovered a 9mn pistol and he was immediately arrested,” commented SAPS spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan.
The suspect made a brief appearance in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court, facing charges of being in possession of an unlicensed firearm.
The recovered firearm will be subjected to ballistic testing to ascertain if it has been used in any crimes in the country.
