A fatal shooting in Colita has sent shock waves through the community. A 41-year-old man was shot dead in the early hours of Thursday morning (November 7).
According to information currently at hand, the man was shot in front of his wife and children in their house. It is alleged that the deceased worked for an engineering company in town.
According to a source close to the story, an unknown gunman forced himself into the homestead, looking for the deceased. Not finding him in the front house, the killer went around to the back room, where he found the man and shot him.
KZN police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda confirmed the incident, saying that Estcourt SAPS are investigating a case of murder. Netshiunda added that the deceased sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body.

The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage.
